To The Honorable Francis Forbes
Chief Justice of New South Wales, &c.

The Court which you first completely organised, and have since presided over, for a period of twelve years, - You discharged with a laborious zeal – a patient assiduity and a single unobtrusive dignity which have conciliated respect for the laws, and inspired a just and universal confidence in the purity and efficiency of this administration. –
We rejoice to learn that your absence from N.S.Wales is intended to be but short; - We are aware it is occasioned by impaired health arising from unwearied attention to the various

various duties of your exalted station; - And with the warmest wishes for its speedy and perfect renovation, We beg to express our anxious hope that your eminent talents and integrity may be soon restored to a Bench which they have long adorned, - and to a Bar which to the general admiration of your abilities has to superadd the particular obligation which your gentlemanly deportment and uniform urbanity have inspired among its members. –
We have the honor to be your very faithful & obliged servants.
